INSPIRED!!!

Hello Everyone,

I am inspired today!!! I was painting yesterday...walls, not canvass!

I find there is something in the whole "working with the hands" concept that is incredibly freeing. I was alone for the day and had a long playlist running from the laptop through the speakers...To get a feel for the mindset and mood here is a short sampling of the music that I listened to while working away cutting and rolling!!!

Springsteen - Multiple, BUT...Growing Up is a great tune!
Tom Cochrane (Symphony Sessions, Edmonton)- Boy Inside the Man
Melissa Etheridge / Joss Stone - Grammy Performance of Janis Joplin
Jon Bon Jovi - Hallelujah (from Jeff Buckley's version of Leonard Cohen's classic
Meatloaf - Multiple
Queen - I Wanna Break Free
Zeppelin - Babe I'm Gonna Leave
Marc Cohn - Silver Thunderbird and True Companion
John Lennon - Imagine
The London Quire Boys - Maryanne
Matchbox 20 - Bright Lights
KT Tunstall - Black Horse and the Cherry Tree
The Fray - Over My Head
We Can Be Hero's - The Wallflowers (via David Bowie)
Joe Cocker - Have a Little Faith in Me
Boston - Fore Play / Long Time
Boomtown Rats - I Don't Like Mondays

...AND many more!!!

I found a real peace and tranquility in my day. I was able to walk through, in my mind, many events and schedules that are ongoing and upcoming, run through various chapters and plot lines for the next book and at times simply slip away into my own world all surrounded by music that has many historical touchstones and sentimental meanings, but also just plain FUN listening to great music.

I am working here this morning for a couple of hours. I will be laying down the plot movement for the next 10 - 12 chapters as they played out yesterday in my head and then I am back to ore painting...WRITING THIS WEEKEND!!! I am very excited. I am on a tight timeline for the next book...June 15th!!! Hey...I have a working title..."FLASH DRIVE". Yikes!!! I have about 80 hours left in painting, renovating and decorating before the new place is ready and then packing and moving on June 14th...PLUS gettinbg this book done. Exhausting but exciting!!! It will all get done...Then sleep, LOL!!!

Find something in your day to "move, touch and inspire" you and/or someone else!!!

Okay...I just wanted to share the power of music and the inspiration working with my hands can bring about. Painting, gardening and then writing...Interesting eh???

Have a great day!!!

PRE-ORDER PRINT VERSION FOR FATHER'S DAY!!!

Hello everyone,

I met with my publisher yesterday and Darkness on the Edge of Town will be going to print in early June. I will be posting sometime in the next day or so the price and how to pre-order a copy. I will be autographing all pre-orders for Father's Day delivery.

This is very exciting for me. I am a huge supporter of the environment and so e-books will still be my main focus, but I am overjoyed that the first novel has been approved to go into some of the larger book stores.

The past few days have been wonderful. Setting up Facebook has been a huge blast...so many new friends, some great reviews on the book and in general just all the activity. Thank you!!!

With regard to the book, please remember we are trying to reach a goal of 5000 books for May on our campaign to support the fight against breast cancer...please pick up a copy for yourself or a gift for someone else and support this worthy cause.

I will be hitting the street in support of the limited print run to set up some book signing events and my publisher will be working overtime (LOL, as if they don't have enough to do already...) to do the same!!! They have been fantastic and very supportive. As with any business venture it is difficult, if not impossible to please everyone!!! Well to date I have to say it again, XOXO Publishing has been a wonderfully refreshing new alliance. They are professional in all of our dealings. They are demonstrating great forward visibility and a strong sense of clear, results focused direction. I am very happy with all their support both from a business point of view and from the publishing and promotional side of the book as well...KUDOS to XOXO publishing from the top down, a job well done!!! Keep up the great work!!!

All the best and have a great day!!!

I encourage you all to log on and donate. As you can tell Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have been a huge part of my life. I believe his dedication to his music, his lyrics and stories is inspiring to say the least. His live shows (I have seen him 24 times) are "sheer entertainment". My brother, RIP, was a huge fan and through his enjoyment of Bruce and the E Street Band I gained a huge appreciation for all kinds of music. My central character, Steve Hicks, is a huge Springsteen fan and moments in time from my past are deeply brought to life in my books and characters, through the memories Bruces' music inspires in me.

Okay...Canadian Breast Cancer and The Danny Fund...please support the fight for the cure!!!

All the best and thank you for supporting me, my writing and our campaign for "The Drive to 5000"!!!

Remember reading e-books saves trees and helps the environment!!!
